Product Uses
Precipitated Silica as a compound mineral
Precipitated Silica is an odourless and tasteless substance that is found in nature and man-made products. Due to its pervasiveness and capabilities, humans have been using this product for ages. Here are a few applications of Precipitated Silica that you must know about.
Pesticides: When used in powder it gives more flowability and prevents caking of it. After adding to powder it acts as a coating on particles and reduces moisture. It is also used as a carrier for converting liquid form into powder.
Cosmetics and Skin Care: : Precipitated silica is a common ingredient in lotions, sunscreen, acne treatment ointments, and hair care products. Adding silica improves viscosity. Good moisture absorption reduces the oiliness of cream and cosmetic products.
Detergents and Cleaning Products: Dust-free, black particle-free silica improves
the appearance of powder. When added, silica reduces moisture and gives better flowability and prevents
caking of powder. Silica absorbs the fragrance and carries it for a long time. Silica coats the powder,
reduces the choking of particles and absorbs the moisture which gives better mixing during washing.
High-brightness Silica offers better free-flowing to poor-flow products and high-caking powder. Used in food
mixes, salt beverage mixes, and industrial chemicals. It also improves shelf life by reducing moisture.
Oral Care Products: : For better oral care, manufacturers add Precipitated Silica because it removes plaque and food particles. Moreover, it can also help remove stains and hence be used in teeth whitening products. The thickening grade offers better viscosity.
